Undergrad and willing to study Cisco

I need to start doing something with my life. I choose Cisco. I am computer literate and very familiar with software and hardware.

But since i don't think finishing my 4years com-sci is gonna make it for me.
Can i study everything cisco or a specific cisco program. Master it. Take certificates and get a decent job?

Where should i start?

CCNA is a great stepping stone for IT jobs
you can take CCNA lessons either Class based or Online
this will help you develop basic knowledge of cisco as well
as to apply simple Switch and routing systems. In order to
pass you need more than that.

You need lots of hand on using cisco(simulation or hands on)
in onder to actually answer the questions ask on the final
CCNA prometric exam

study hard
and do simulation of the real cisco sample cases
you need to study the basics first then apply them to the
real cisco simulation.
you cannot pass CCNA by chance you need to know
how to configure by heart..
With that you will pass the CCNA with flying colors

hello po, related din po sa question ko ang problema ng isa nating forum memer, ask ko lang din po sa sitwasyon ko po kasi undergrad din po sa sa STI dito sa lugar namin pero diko po nakuha yung transcript ko kasi nag close mo yung school yon, sa ngayon po wala po akong hinahawakang transcrip of record, pwede parin po ba ako mag training or mag arala kahit wala akong transcript? fast lerner po ako kasi may sarili akong computer shop gusto ko lang po maka kuha ng certificate para technician. thanks po.

I think you can get your transcript from the main branch ng STI cguro naman meron clang records ng mga students para sa mga branches nila.

Sa tanong mu kung pde kang magtraining yes pde kang magtraining pero nde ka allowed magtake ng TESDA CHS NCII Exam as long as nde mu naisusubmit ung transcript mu sa college.

I am a mainframe administrator for years. I want to get certified on Linux. I noticed that you have pre requisites for this. Do I need to take this pre requisites before I can enroll?

Also, if you take this course what will be your path or direction in terms of professional growth?

I hope I'm not redundant over my post. I read through RE: "What course to take?" thread by mariceljm17 and we're quite similar with her situation. I like the answer made by charibel and MacJordan. I just wanted to solicit some advice from forum masters about my situation. Here it goes.

I'm previously employed IT professional for 5 years and had experience over mainframes (CICS, COBOL and IBM backup devices and machine) , mid-range servers(TACL, Tandem) and open systems (SQL, SWIFT, OPICS). Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find same line of job after so many years that I once had so I opted out for non-IT work.

Right now I'm trying to make an assessment on what to do. The first thing I wanted to do was to take a certification exam. I did applied for a job vacancy for a couple of times but I was turned down because of my age. I was also trained to operate in Linux and Unix but I wasn't able to fully use it well.

Here's my certification plan: A+ > Server + > MCP or MCSE. Any suggestions?

Check your ethernet cable, usually old cables are defective and needs to be replaced.

wala pong ladderazed course for four year degree courses. ang pde sa ladderized course is ung from 2 year course to a 4 year degree course.

Ung units na nakuha mu sa 4 year course naman. kapag kukuha ka ng ibang course or magshishift ka i kecredit na lng nila yun sa bago mung course.

Do I have to finish Tesda course first?

It depends on the level of your IT skills.
